Following in the grand tradition that will forever associate the name of Woodstock with live music, this year's celebration in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, will see twenty artists / bands appearing on The Town Stage in the Town Square over the Saturday and Sunday of the late August Bank Holiday, August 28th & 29th. A significant feature of 'Woodstock Live' is the diverse and eclectic nature of the artists, both local and from afar, who are invited to perform.
New for 2010, we will be opening Woodstock Live with “The Wall’. Celebrating 900 years since the building of the wall around the Royal Park at Woodstock, children from the town will build their own wall in the Town Square singing and arrangement of a well known Pink Floyd track played by tp & woodman (and friends).
We also delighted to welcome Time Out recommended comedian Iszi Lawrence, who will be providing links and stand out stand up on both days.
You can enjoy everything from the Glen Miller /Frank Zappa inspired big band sounds of Blake's Heaven on Sunday night to the Celtic flavours of The Quiet Men, earlier that day, to the psychedelic guitars of tp & woodman early on Saturday, to the sensitive passion of Nikki Loy's beautifully crafted songs that call Alicia Keys to mind, later on Saturday.....and much more....and it's all for free in the historic Town Square with bars and restaurants spilling out on to the streets to enjoy the weekend.
This year we’ve added lots of features to our website, including the option to see and hear acts appearing at Woodstock Live on our Look and Listen page. You’ll also find Woodstock Live on Facebook, so it’s easy to invite your friends and family.
It's live, it's eclectic...it's 'Woodstock Live'.
